Nasceu na Espanha no ano de 1549. Sua formação passou pelo colégio jesuíta, ingressando mais tarde na Ordem Franciscana. Prestou ali muitos serviços, mas seu grande desejo era a evangelização para muitos. Foi quando deixou a Europa e foi para a América Latina.


Chegou em Lima (Peru), evangelizando também pela Argentina, Chile, Paraguai, Andes etc. Tudo isso em busca de evangelizar a muitos.


Francisco Solano consumiu-se na evangelização. Por obediência voltou a Lima para ser, dentro da Ordem, um formador de novos evangelizadores.


Solano faleceu com 61 anos pronunciando palavras de louvor ao Senhor: “Deus seja bendito!”


Quem se consome pelas almas, tem a certeza de que Deus foi glorificado.
